Hi, hello, and welcome back to another episode of the Unrelatable podcast. Last week, we talked all about love notes, hate mail, witches, of course, as you know, my newest story submission series for listeners. That's where you guys shared your stories of things you're loving, things you're hating, anything in life, any situations that you're going through right now. And we got some good submissions. We got some family reunions navigating jobs and people at your jobs, people not showing up to your birthday party, friends, secrets you're taking to the grave.

All in all, it was a really good episode and I appreciated the feedback. And today is going to be yet another lighthearted episode. I haven't been in the mood to do more, I don't know, deep talks recently, and I feel like it's okay. You know, it's okay to be able to take a little bit of a break from those kinds of conversations. And so today, I thought, you know what?

I want to focus on something a little bit more superficial, a little bit more fun. And so today's rants and raves are going to be beauty, health, and food focused. I usually promote more minimalistic shopping habits, which is wild considering that I used to go shopping every other day. If you didn't know, I was the mall corporate girly all during high school. I jumped into the mall as soon as I turned 16, and I thought that this was just the most spectacular career that I could ever get into.

It really was amazing. You know, there's a really fun thing about working in a retail store where you just get to have a lot of fun. You get to be around clothes all the time and be inspired with your outfits, and I genuinely really enjoyed it. I worked at Aeropostale. Yep.

Your girl was a Bethany Moda stan. I wore the heck out of Aeropostale. And when Caden and I started dating, I would buy him clothes from there. And, listen, I wasn't blind to the fact that Aeropostale was, you know, the lowest on the totem pole when it came to clothing popularity. You know, there was Abercrombie and Fitch at the top.

Then there was Hollister. And then we had PacSun and Zumiez and whatever else. And then there were about 500 other stores, and then Aeropostale was at the bottom. It was more so a middle school wear is what I'm calling it. And if you if you weren't in high school, that's great.

So did I. That's what I'm getting to is I would literally buy Kayden items from there. And I would never buy it with a name brand on it. I always bought him, you know, items that I thought he would like that didn't say Aeropostale across the chest or on the booty. And one time he told me, he said, I thought it was really sweet you would buy me things, but I never I never liked it.

I didn't know why you would buy me these cardigans and stuff when I don't when I don't wear those things, but I wore them for you. And I thought, you are a saint. You are a saint. Because I I asked him, I was like, what was your honest opinion of this clothing? And he just said, he wore it because it reminded me it reminded him of me because I bought it for him.

And I just thought, well, aren't you the ripest peach in town? That is very nice of you to do that. And so yeah. Anyway, started up at Aeropostale, then went to Her Burgers, which if you didn't know is sort of like Dillard's, maybe a lower end Nordstrom type of store. Very senior focused, I would say, and I did not love working there.

They had really bad boundaries when it came to working, and you weren't supposed to work past, I think, 11 pm as a high schooler, but they would keep us overtime constantly. And so you know, setting up the store, that was all really fun. I got to be a part of the entire grand opening and setting it all up whatnot. But I think it was maybe 8 months into working there while they were open. I just thought this is not for me.

So I quit and I decided, you know what? There's a cute little retail store around the corner from here, and it's called Bliss. And this was a prom dress store. And so I worked at Bliss for a while. And then upon hearing about an opening at PacSun, jumped on over to there.

I worked at both those stores at the same time. And I love work. I just loved working at PacSun. Obviously, the clothes were way more my style than Aeropostale or Herberger's or whatever. I don't even think I ever ended up buying a single thing from Herberger's because what are you supposed to buy from there?

Maybe a formal dress that, you know, that would have been great, but I wasn't going anywhere formal to wear a dress to. So, yeah, PACK SAN ended up being one of my favorite my favorite spots. But it's crazy because that mall, you know, I worked in all those different spots, and I sound like I'm gonna cry right now. I'm not. I'm just, like, losing my breath.

Let me take a deep breath here. Okay. So they knocked down the mall. They knocked it down this past summer, and it's wild because I spent so many years of my life there. And so it felt so nostalgic.

I spent so much time shopping at that Hope Avenue, Bed Bath and Beyond. Wait, no. Bath and Body, that's the one. And pretzel maker, I don't know. It's just wild when, you know, you go back to your hometown and everything is different.

And they're knocking down stores and places you used to hang out at. And now I sound like I'm 85 years old. And who knows, I might be, might might be an 85 year old in this 27 year old body. But, needless to say, working at retail stores, you get a discount. And growing up, I had to start buying my own clothes at 12, and so I just got used to saving up for what I wanted and then spending my money on that.

I didn't really save a lot. It was kind of, okay. Yeah. I'll deal with it when I get to it. And I always had money to pay for gas, to pay for my car payments, my insurance, whatever.

But all my extras went to clothing. I loved buying clothes. And so then when I got married, it was budget time. And so I started, you know, DIY ing just about everything. Just about everything.

Everything in our house was secondhand. You know, it was only up until a few years ago where we had never bought a piece of furniture new. I think it was in 2021 where we bought a bed frame and 2 nightstands. They were our very first purchase of new furniture, and it was really exciting. And then last year, we bought a couch.

For the very first time, we had this new couch because our last couches were getting so old, and they were ripping. They had huge rips. Anyways, long story short, I spent a lot of my twenties DIY ing everything. Macrame's. Oh, my gosh.

If you would have walked into my house back in I don't know what year was this, 2016 to 2018, 2019, macrame's everywhere. I was selling them. I was teaching people how to make them. I was doing it day night. I was so excited.

They were all over my house. And then I started selling them. And then yeah. So it's just been this cycle of saving money, but then spending it on things that I want for the home, but always secondhand. And then I took this really nice long break from buying anything.

Because when you move a lot, you kind of realize what you need and what you don't need. And I got to the point where I thought, you know what? I really don't need anything. And I couldn't even remember the last time I went shopping for clothes. And so recently, I've put in a few Amazon orders for items that I just keep buying.

You know, items that are really consistent that I love or switches that I've made over the years. And then there's also, of course, things that I haven't liked that I've bought. And so today, we're gonna talk all about, you know, the categories of beauty, health and food. Those are kind of the categories that you guys ended up submitting your rants and raves about all things beauty, food and health. And so we're just going to start out with products first.

And again, I do prefer, you know, more minimalistic shopping style and only buying what you need. And so, keep in mind that anything that I say here today, you don't need it. I'm just going to rave about it, or I'll rant about it. And then, you can choose, you know, maybe add it to your list. The thing I like to do is keep a running list of items where if I want it, I'll put it on the list.

And if I still want it a week later or a few weeks later, then I'll get it. But very rarely do I have an idea or a need pop up in my head now and go and purchase it immediately? Because a lot of times, we're influenced so easily, and that has been really, really, really helpful. I actually have a tab in my phone. I recently started of products that I want, but then don't buy.

And it's really cool to look at the end of the month and add up how much money you would have spent if you would have made all these small little purchases. Even going out to eat, even, you know, stopping by and getting a coffee or something. You can write all these things down, and you realize how much money you're saving, or how much money that you used to spend just kind of on the fly. And it's really interesting. So I suggest trying that if you ever feel like you are an impulse shopper.

So, yeah. Let's dive into products first. These are going to be beauty products. And the first one is sunscreen. And I know I just said that you don't have to buy any of these, but this one is the only rule to that is the only exception to that.

Everybody needs a daily sunscreen. And I have never been so consistent with it, where my face is consistently 5 shades lighter than the rest of my body, and that's okay. And that's been the case for a few years now. And I would have it no other way. So the one that I really like is called Beauty of Joseon, and I know I'm saying that wrong.

It's jose0n. And it essentially is SPF 50, and it's a I'm pretty sure it's a Korean skincare product. It's amazing. It's really light on the skin. It doesn't leave a white cast, and it's very affordable.

I think it's $19 for a tube. And if you know sunscreen, you know how difficult it is to find one that won't leave a white cast on your skin, one that doesn't smell like chemicals, one that doesn't feel like it's clogging up your pores, and then one that doesn't cost $1,000,000. And so, I really love Beauty of Joseon, which is not how you say it. But, they're they're the best ones so far. The next item that I have been pretty consistent with over the years is self tanning.

But I've switched from using a foam to a lotion. I don't know why, but I haven't wanted to use a foam, and sleep in it, and deal with the hassle of lying as straight as I can and not having my arms completely against my sides and all that jazz. And so I really like just putting on this self tanning lotion. Of course, it was recommended to me through TikTok. Not TikTok shop, but just people reviewing it on TikTok.

I buy it on Amazon, and it lasts a long time. So I've really liked it. I just put it on right after the shower. You don't have to rinse it off, and it's a gradual tan. It's kind of like the more, I don't know, adult version of what was that?

What was that self tanning foam from Walmart that we all started off on in in high school or college. Was it Jergens Instant Sun? You know, the natural glow. Oh, my gosh. One time, I bought that in a lotion form, and I put it on my nightstand 1 night.

And in the middle of the night, my hands were so dry. I went over, grabbed some lotion, put it on my hands. Didn't realize it was the self tanning one. Oh, my gosh. I woke up.

My hands were bright, bright, bright, bright orange. So just as long as you don't do that, you'll be fine. But this one's really cool because it just kind of color matches to your skin, and you can dilute it if you want to by adding in another lotion to it and rubbing it in together. Whatever you like, it builds upon itself day by day if you use it several days. I usually just do it one day a week after my shower, and it lasts.

And I love it, and it's really subtle as it washes away. I find that the foams would eventually look like little dots on my skin, or, you know, my legs would fade faster than my arms, or vice versa. So it's been a nice, good switch that I had to rave about today. Now, these products, I'm going to go I'm gonna rave about them, the cheapest to most expensive. So, first, we have the sunscreen, then the self tanning lotion.

And these 2 are really inexpensive. I think these were each 10 to $15. A face trimmer. This is something I've never done before. I've always used a little facial blades, but I got a face trimmer thing.

And it essentially just, like, cuts the hair on your, you know, like, on the sides of your face. Any of that peach fuzz, it cuts it off, and you can keep it in your purse or in your car. So if you ever notice a little stash growing, you can just take it off real quickly. I don't know. I'm trying it out, and I've liked it so far.

So I'm raving about it. And then, I have to tell you, for the first time in my life, I've grown nose hair. I didn't know that this was a thing for us women. I don't know. No one ever told me.

I never ever thought about it before. I thought it was just something that men had to do, you know, wax their noses. But, apparently, apparently, we have to do it as well. And when I got home from Bulgaria, Keaton said, Hannah, you have a nose hair. And I thought, no.

I do not. You're literally lying. Because this is something that we always laugh about is he will get an outrageously long nose hair. And I will say, Caden, I think it's time. And then he'll go through his whole routine of waxing his nose.

Well, I have a septum piercing, so I can't wax it. So, I got this electric nose trimmer. It was about $12. And it's really easy and pain free, and you can do it all the time. Cadence says it will make your nose hairs grow faster because apparently, he used to do that.

But it's so simple. I don't mind if I have to do it once a week, if that makes sense. I'd rather do that than wax it because I don't know how I could do that with my piercing. Next item is going to be the most basic Utah thing that I can say. And that is a brumate.

Stanleys are super popular and all, and that's great. I have heard, I've seen them, they are beautiful. But my issue was always the plastic straw. I prefer, like, a bendy one, you know, just so I don't nick my teeth. It's just maybe it's a texture thing.

And then I was just always concerned because I know that if I had a Stanley, I would tip it over. It'd probably spill. I like having a drink on the couch. I don't wanna worry about it spilling. I mean, I only drink water, actually.

But still, I don't want water getting everywhere, and the brumate lid locks. I love it. I can have a 1,000,000 things in my hand and not worry if I'm gonna be getting water all over the place because the lid locks. So if you don't have one and you've wanted 1 I'm not saying if you don't have a roommate. I'm saying, if you don't have a water bottle at all or a 40 ounce tumbler of some sort, I would really recommend that.

If you have a Stanley, you do not need a second, 3rd, 4th water bottle. Don't let me don't let me influence you to buy another one. This is just if you haven't had one yet because I just really like that locking feature. Okay. Now I'm going to rant about something, and these are the New Balance 725s.

I bought these last year when they were astronomically trendy, astronomically high in price. Now they're only $97. $97. I could have saved over $50, but that's okay. Because I've worn the heck out of them, but I also feel like they've started declining in quality really fast.

I only wore them to Europe one time, and the heel was rubbed away. Like, it's I still wear them, I would say, several times a week right now. But, you know, when you rub it, the heel so much that the fabric starts rubbing away. And then sometimes it can hurt your heel because it's really what what would you call that? It's just really firm.

And it's just kind of annoying. It's still comfortable for the most part, but I need a new go to sneaker. And so if you have any recommendations, send them my way. I think I'm gonna buy some Solomons. I've heard a lot about them.

I really like the look at them, the look of them. And so I think that's going to be the next one that I go to as soon as these New Balance 725s are too uncomfortable to wear. But, yeah, not a huge fan of the quality of the New Balance 725s. I would skip that one. Okay.

Something that I've been loving is a house cleaner. We've only hired them twice since we've moved here, but they deep clean everywhere that I miss. And it was absolutely spectacular. There's nothing better, and there's no bigger life goal that I have in life, but to be able to afford a weekly or biweekly house cleaner because, I mean, I'm really good at tidying up all the normal day to day things. I'm good at doing, you know, the chores, whatever, even cleaning the bathrooms and whatnot.

But, you know, things like the shower or the spots that are really hard to see, dusting the dust boards, which I only do, I don't know, every other month. Those are the things that are just so much it makes a big impact when they're cleaned more consistently. And so that's just something that, you know, it's not unique to me. I'm sure we all would love a weekly house cleaner, but the two times that they've come has been wonderful. My only pet peeve about it is is they don't charge by the hour, they charge by the project.

And so they could spend 2 hours, they could spend 4, but I prefer to budget and to know what I'm going to be paying. So the last time they came, it was, I think, $200. And I got home because I wasn't home when they came over. And they had done a few things like I think they had made the guest bed with extra blankets that I didn't have on it before. Like, it was already made, but it had a blanket that I had folded on the end.

And they had decided to, like, pull it up and rearrange the pillows and stuff like that. And so, I think I just need a clear cut and dry list of things that I need done. And to not have it be, like, oh, we just come and we look around and we see what needs to be done and we do it. Does that make sense? Am I saying, is this completely out of touch?

I don't know. It might be. I just I I need it to be budgetable. I need to be able to know how much it's going to be before it happens. And so might be looking for someone new because I think once a month, I could do, you know, maybe $100.

That would be something that I could definitely budget for. Budget for as in go find another way to make another $100 a month. Oh, my goodness. Okay. So last last beauty rant are curl creams.

And this was actually a submission by one of you. I just cannot find the right curl cream. I have different porosity to my hair, and it seems like everything affects everybody's hair differently. So when I watch TikToks, and I affects everybody's hair differently. So when I watch TikToks and they tell me which ones to buy and which ones work for their hair, I always purchase it, but then it turns out that my curl texture is different.

What curl products do you use? So I absolutely couldn't tell you because I'm still trying to figure that out for myself. It is so it is so so so so hard to find the curl cream or the mousse or whatever that will work with your hair. Like you said, the different porosities to our hair is so wild. And I didn't even know this, but apparently, depending on this type of porosity of your hair, if you use too many proteins.

So if you have a deep con deep conditioning or moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, it cannot be good for your hair, or if it has high proteins, or if it's a bonding one, it can actually damage it. And so I don't know. I feel like I need to go to hair school to even figure out what type of shampoo and conditioner and or not shampoo and conditioner, because I have ones that I like, but what type of curl creams I need. There's a woman in town here that does hair analyses hair analysis on you if you have curls, and she she basically tells you what your curl pattern is, what level you are, and then she recommends the products that are good for your hair. And, of course, it depends on if you've had it dyed before or if you've, you know, if you have virgin hair and whatnot.

But this thing is, like, over $200 for that type of consultation. I really wanna do it because she'll also style your hair and show you exactly how much curl you have and exactly how to style it. So it kinda seems necessary, but also a little bit unnecessary. I know there's so many people on YouTube that can teach us these things. So that's gonna be something that I try.

Maybe maybe try that as well. I new to this journey, so I don't have all of the insight yet. But when I do, I will update you guys. Alright. We have one more product I want to rave about, and that is the Treehut body wash.

You might have seen it in Target. You might have seen it in Urban Outfitters. I think it's anywhere from 7 to $10 for this body wash, but it is absolutely miraculous, specifically the Coca Colada scent and the watermelon scent. Every single time I use this, the scent stays on my skin. And Caden's like, Hannah, what is that smell?

It is amazing. And then when we went to my mom's the last time that we went to Utah, my sister had the Coca Cola scent, and Caden used it every single day, and he loved it. And I love it. It is so nice. I just reordered it.

The thing is it lasts for a very long time. I ran out of mine maybe 2 months ago and I got it for Christmas. And so definitely if you're needing a new body wash, try the Tree Hut Coca Colada body wash. It is spectacular. Okay, moving on to health.

This is going to include workout things, AKA outfits. It's going to include accessories. It's going to include health care, and all of that jazz. So let's jump into the health rants and raves. One thing that you will never beat are the Yereo.

I can't believe that. It's spelled y e o r e o. Tell me how you see that how you say that. Yereo. Okay.

Yereo. I don't know what I said before that. Yio Rio workout shorts. There's no brand name on it. They're from Amazon, and I love a clean slate.

I love a clean pair of workout shorts with no branding. Absolutely love it. So what I've been doing is I've been pairing those, workout shorts with shirts from Amazon to lift in. And so I've been kind of color matching it. I don't know.

Does it look like a pajama set? It might I'm not too sure. I just it's none of my business, honestly, what I look like in the gym. As long as I have a big baggy t shirt and some shorts or sweats, I'm stoked. And I bought these shorts in spring of 2023, and they are all in perfect condition, as well as the sweats.

And I just could not be more excited for the weather to get cool. Can't believe that I'm saying it. It's only because this humidity kills me every single day. You already know that, but I'm excited to be able to wear sweats. Again, I've not been able to wear sweats to the gym because I did try.

I absolutely tried, and I melted one day. And there was just there was no recovery from it. Anyone that saw me that day, no, you didn't. Because I just I don't know. I love there's nothing better than wearing sweats to the gym.

I just really enjoy it. And so if you need some new workout shorts, it's yeo rio. And these will be linked on my Amazon storefront. They they already are. I actually added them last year.

And I'm here to tell you that they have stood the test of time. I was also actually freaked out because they do have a booty scrunch to it. But what you do is if you've never worn shorts or leggings with a little booty scrunch, it's not, like, super obvious. It just makes it so that you don't have, like, a unibut where, you know, you only have, like, one cheek. It it, like, defines, like, you know, both your cheeks, but it's not in I don't know.

You just have to you just have to look it up. Essentially, what you do is you put your hands on, like I can't even explain it. I'm going to have to make a video about this or something. But, essentially, you, like, squat down while your hands are in the back of your pants. But your palms are touching, like, the booty cheeks of the pants.

Right? Like, the butt of the shorts. Is this making sense? So, yeah. You it's not making sense.

I'm gonna have to make a video about it. But, essentially, you do, like, this squat, and then it makes it so that the seam is centered, and it's not gonna be like moving around. Long story short, if you're wondering what that would be like, let me know. I can send you a video. Oh, my goodness.

Okay. So now I'm gonna rant a little bit about Lululemon. Listen. I love Lululemon. I worked there, and I bought as many things as I could while I worked there because you get 70% off of the we made too much section.

And so I really stocked up on the bras and whatnot. So I can't walk around being like, oh my gosh. Lululemon is so overrated when I have a ton of their products, but it's because I got them heavily discounted. I'm talking 20 or $30. I cannot even imagine ever buying a full priced Lululemon item ever again because of the abundance of workout brands that are out there that have, you know, I would say equally high quality of clothing.

You're ultimately paying for the brand. And, again, like I said, I wear all the time. I'm not sitting here saying, oh, yeah. If I see someone wearing Lululemon, I think it's really dumb that they spent their money on that. Not what I'm saying because I wear it all the time.

But I'm just ranting because there's a little bit of ridiculousness of the price of it. And for a little bit there, I was a Lululemon ho. I was all about it. And, of course, it's because I was getting it discounted. But going back, I've gone back one time to the store since 20 what year was that?

2021. I've gone back one time since 2021, and it was to exchange a pair of my leggings that had really not chafed. What is that called? When you get, like, the pills? It really pilled a lot, and I exchanged it for exchanged it for a new pair.

That's the only time I've gone back because it's just me. I have this weird idea about it now where I'm, like, I just I physically cannot. Knowing that I used to get a pair of leggings for 20 or $30 or a bra for 15 to $20, it's just ridiculous. If I ever need to buy something, you can catch me working there for 2 months just to get the discount. Okay.

So one thing that is really underrated is bringing your own weight lifting attachments to the gym. Hear me out. I bring a bag every single time I go to the gym, of course. It's, I don't know, a 10 year old v ray bag that I got when I was oh, secret for you. I used to model for v ray.

I did their product pictures. I guess it's not a secret because I posted about it a long time ago. But when I was in college, I would do their product photos and whatnot. And get this, I was paid $10 an hour to model or given product. So they got a really good deal.

Anyways, I have a Vooray bag from so long ago that I'm using, and I bring a belt for, you know, obviously for, like, squatting or hip thrusts, basically extra core support. I bring wrist wraps. But the thing that I'm talking about, the weightlifting attachments are things for the cable. So you can bring some wrist attachments for your own use, you can bring the kickback attachments. And these things I just really like bringing for myself because I can't even tell you how many times they've fallen off.

You know, those little wrist wrap kickback strap things? Oh, my gosh. They have fallen off my feet and slammed back into the cable machine and made a loud noise, and I'm just not interested in using my gym's 59 year old attachments. And so this might not be applicable to everybody, but there are also a lot of attachments that are specifically created for specific exercises. So there's some really good attachments for your back that you can get, and I haven't gotten those.

But for some reason, I've just really liked bringing a lot of my own things. I will also bring wedges. Basically, what what these wedges are are you put them under your heels, and they either bring your knees forward or back. And this affects your range of motion, and that also fits in my v ray bag. So I have all these things that I like, and I just felt like that was kind of applicable.

I mean, you only buy it once and it lasts for an extremely long amount of time. And you can also bring different, what are they called when you put the band? Yeah. Bands. Man, without words today.

But, yeah, those hip bands, the leg bands, all that kind of jazz. Maybe you don't wanna have to carry around your bag everywhere. What I do is I just kinda put it on a section by a wall, and I'll, like, go back and forth and grab stuff out of it if I need it. And I'll put it somewhere where it's not going to be taking up space for someone else to lift right there. And, yeah.

Really easy, really mindful, really I'm just kidding. I won't say it. Really, demure? Okay. Anyways, so the next thing that I want to rant about health wise, health care in the United States.

I don't need to say anything else except for the fact that blood work doesn't have to be as expensive as it is. I use Life Extension for my blood work, and this is not an ad. In fact, I could actually I think you can go on their website, and you can get a link so that you can get a discount if someone uses your link. I haven't done that, but, essentially, what you do is you go to life extension.com, and then you type in their blood panels. And I use the weight loss blood panel, not for specifically just for weight loss.

But if you are doing any sort of hormonal work or you wanna check-in with your hormones, the weight loss panel includes your sex hormones, and that's really important to know, and it includes your thyroid and everything else. And so that cuts down the price. I think that when I went to the doctor, it was $900 out of pocket. And when I went to life extension, it's, like, I don't know, $200. So it makes it a lot more affordable.

And I I feel like I had to throw that in there. It's just one of those purchases where it's not physical, but it's really, really, really good to just know where your body is at and to check-in with it. Okay. Last rave are cruise doggy shoes. This is health.

This is health. It belongs in the health category. Because I went to this really fun event where there were over 250 vendors in the Black Mountain, North Carolina area. And this is a really small town. There's tons of hiking, tons of waterfalls, and they had over 250 vendors in the streets.

Well, the asphalt was over a 100 degrees. So people are walking around with their dogs, and their dogs are, like, picking up their feet really quickly and, like, whining. They even had police walking through telling people to get their dogs off of the asphalt because of their paws. And crew has doggy shoes, but the last time we went on a hike, we went swimming. And he lost one of his shoes.

So I reordered some new shoes, and I'm really excited about it. They actually they actually came in too small, so I sent them back. And they just got delivered today. They are called Wagwellies. That's what their shoes are called are Wagwellies.

And they're essentially little what are those shoes called where they have holes all over them? Crocs. Right? Yeah. They're Crocs, but for dogs.

And I'm really excited about it because they'll be more breathable and better for the summertime. And so, yeah, I'm just here to promote the health of your pup. And I know summer is about over now, but make sure that when you're going on asphalt or with your dog in public in the middle of the day, that they're wearing shoes. It is so important for their health. And even the little sticky pads that you can stick on to their paws can melt into their paw and become stuck.

So the shoes are the best way to go. I've done a lot of research on it. Right now, I'm looking at car crates and car kennels, you know, crash tested kennels. And I'm looking at either Gunner or Ruffland, I think is what it's called. So if you have any experience on that side, let me know because these prices are kind of astronomical.

But I want crew to be safe in the car. So might be a little bit extreme. That's okay. Okay. So now, we are going to move on to food.

This is a little bit shorter of a list, but I'm here to tell you to buy locally, if you can. Pretty sure we all wanna do that. Right? And especially in today's time, it is not as easy as we would hope for it to be. And so we don't buy everything organic, but we do buy our meat locally.

It's really the only way that I can eat it. Oh, also, I had my first bad experience with meat. Yesterday, I had a chicken sandwich. You know, those sandwiches where there's, like, grapes in it or cran raisins or something? What is that called?

A chicken salad sandwich? We had them at our wedding, and I hadn't had one since our wedding day, actually. And there's this a very cute little cafe that is in I don't know if it's downtown, but we went to it yesterday. We brought crew, and it was so delicious. But I don't know what it was.

It wrecked my stomach. If you think about it, my gut microbiome hasn't had chicken in so long. So I'm just wondering how they're doing in there. I wanna give them a pat on the back. I wanna apologize to them.

I wanna tell them it won't be like this forever. Oh, my goodness. But no, seriously, I was shocked because a lot of people have asked me, how has your digestive system been after starting to eat meat again? I know a wild question. Right?

But it, like, makes sense. Right? That you would get sick, and I was shocked because I hadn't gotten sick. But, really, the only things that I had been eating were salmon and then 93% lean beef. And so this is my first experience with chicken, and it didn't go well.

It did not go well. So I'll keep you updated there. But the next food thing is high quality dog food. I feel like crew is going to live to be a 100 years old because we've switched him to fresh pet food. Again, I know this is a luxury dog item, but his coat has never been more healthy.

He sheds way less. His fecal matter his poops aren't bad. Okay? We'll call it what it is. His poops are healthy, and he has so much energy.

People are constantly asking me how old he is because listen. He's like a puppy when I'm walking him. He's so excited to meet other dogs. And I and I never walk up to a person with him. I always ask if they want to meet, and then they usually meet.

And as soon as they sniff each other, crew will, like, bounce down, you know, where he's, like, bowing down to him with his 2 front paws spread way apart and his tail is wagging back and forth. And they're like, oh my gosh. He's so cute. Is he a puppy? And I'm like, no.

He's turning 8 this year. And it's just been a completely full 180 from last year because last year, exactly 1 year ago, maybe 1 week, he had a massive grapefruit sized tumor removed from his spleen, and his spleen removed as well. The doctors initially I guess, the veterinarian initially gave us 60 days. They literally told us he wouldn't live past 60 days because they thought it was cancerous, that it had to be cancerous and that it was spreading. Well, we got the pathology report back, and he's clear.

And, of course, we keep doing blood work. We did blood work on him about 2 weeks ago, and, you know, we switched him to this healthier dog food, and it's just made a world of a difference. I don't know. I just feel like that's something that it's costing us more money. But I found that, in my opinion, dogs are a really big responsibility.

And sure, you can go cheap on a dog, but I don't feel like that's the best life that you can give them is, like, an afterthought. You know? You know what I mean? I don't know. Maybe I'm just very maybe I just have this perspective because I don't have any other children.

You know, he's my soul dog. And I just feel like, yeah. If you have been considering getting a dog, but you're not wanting to, I don't know, sign up for the pet insurance or make sure that they're safe in the car and you don't wanna get shoes because that's annoying, you just gotta think of all these things before getting an animal and getting a dog and and not really even pressure pressure yourself, I guess, to know everything beforehand. Because, listen, he lived, what, 7 years of his life not eating fresh pet food, and now he does. So, you know, you live and you learn.

I've not done everything perfect. I think I'm just yeah. I just want him to live to be a 100 years old. So I'm doing everything that I can to make sure that he's healthy and happy and comfortable. And I'll get off of my rant because there's so many ways to love your dog and to give your dog a good life.

And even when we fed him kibble, you know, we would just add a scoop of sweet potato puree and some blueberries and this and that. And I just feel like as long as you're incorporating some vitamins, some fresh nutrients, then it's just so much better than just kibble for their little bellies. Okay. Next thing I want to rave about is the air fryer, but I'm assuming all of you have one. So we're gonna skip on to the next one, which is gym candy.

Well, Hannah, what kind of Gym Candy? It's literally called Gym Candy, and it's from GNC. This is both a rant and a rave because it is ridiculously priced. I understand they are essentially these little teddy bear gummies, and they're so good. Some of them have, you know, that, like, coating on it, like, that little sugar coating.

I don't know what it is. It's probably pure chemicals, honestly, if I'm being honest. But it's essentially 20 grams of protein for the whole bag. And I think it's, I don't know, 20 grams of carbs. Anyways, don't need to mention the macros.

See, I literally told you the other day. Right? You think in math when you think of food. Anyways, I'm just telling you this because they're the best midnight snack ever. It's the perfect nightcap nightcap as of again, with the macros.

If you're, like, you know, deficient and you need more protein, you could just have a little bag of this delicious gym candy. That's what it's called, gym candy. And I think it's $6 per bag. So, I haven't had very many of them, but they are delicious. Okay.

I swear I didn't mean for this episode to be so long. So I'm going to run through these the rest of these really quick. This is your guys' rants and raves. This rant says, bras. I can't ever find a good, well fitted bra.

They are always tons of seams, and they're so uncomfortable. Okay. Here I am swinging in to save the day. My favorite bra brand is called Comefully. I swear, these brand names are gonna kill me.

It's c o m f e l I e, Comefully. And they have the best seamless bras literally ever. They're adjustable on the straps and on the back, and I paid $25 for each one. And they were called the basic wireless seamless bralette. But I'm going to be honest with you, just checked out their website, and I think they're running 40 to $50 now.

So look out for sales. They are an investment. But honestly, that even that price is the same price as a Victoria's Secret bra. But in my opinion, the quality is really good. I've had them for about a year now, and they're perfect.

I didn't even have to do a single return. Their measurement, size guides were perfect. So try those out, and then make sure that you're washing your bras in a garment net. This has made the biggest difference in keeping the quality of my clothes really good is using a garment net. So yeah.

And then on that same line, we have a rant. Dryer sheets. Use wool dryer balls. Yep. I have to say amen 100% to that.

Dryer sheets, I heard can suction to the fan or whatever in the dryer. The thing that's, like, suctions out any hair or, I don't know, anything while it's drying and can potentially cause a fire, allegedly. So when I heard of that, I also got grabbed those wool dryer balls. And I really like them. It makes it so that things don't so, like, your hair doesn't suction to your clothes.

And if that makes sense, like, it picks up the lint and whatnot, really like them. Okay. This is a rave. Not one specific product, but upgrading your fits with jackets as accessories. Accessories don't have to be jewelry, thrifted leather jackets, purses, etcetera.

This one's a really good suggestion. I have been loving figuring out how to style my clothes, not just wear them. I know that that's a big trend on social media, but it's so true. I used to just put on a top and a bottom and think, okay, that's perfect. But I've been having a good time messing around with adding a layer, whether it's an unbuttoned button up or a cardigan or a purse of some kind.

I thrifted this beautiful Free People green leather suede bag from a garage sale last year. And I love it. And it complements my outfits really well. And it's just been something where it's been kind of exciting to try out because I have to be honest with you, I don't have the best the best time putting together outfits. I kind of struggle with it.

And so, yeah, just thinking, okay, Hannah, you got your top and bottom on. Now, what else can you add to this? Has been really helpful. Okay. This Rave says, I have a subscription for a monthly massage.

100% worth the investment. Oh, baby. That would actually probably take over my desire for a house cleaner. It would be a monthly massage. Wow.

Does that sound nice? Treat yourself, treat yourself because that's next on my list. Wow. Wonderful idea. This next one says hand lotion with SPF, protect your hands.

I have been thinking about this recently, and I think that I need to buy another one of those little tubes of the beauty of Josine, Josian, whatever, to put on my hands and just keep it in my purse. Because if you think about it, your hands are always on your wheel of your car, and they're getting so much sun. This is something my mom told me about a long time ago, but I never really thought about it. And, yeah, that's a really good idea. This next rant says, I hate fast fashion.

They provide loose strings, clothes that wrinkle, and the texture changes after just a few washes. Not to mention, it is not ethical. Yep. 110%. Fast fashion, I feel like has been so much easier to step away not living in an area with any good shopping malls.

Maybe that's why I haven't gone shopping in what feels like over years because the stores here I have no desire to go to. But, yeah, fast fashion, it's so much better to invest. Maybe you're paying double or 3 times for the product, but then you only buy it once. And fast fast fashion can just fall apart so easily. So that is a really, really, really good one.

This rave says, compost. If you have a yard, it's so useful and so easy. Our trash production has gone down like crazy. Compost has been something I've been so interested in. I've even looked at apartment composting.

Don't think I can do it. I don't I think it would stink. But the second I get a yard, you know, I'm hopping on that composting train. It is so, so, so good for your soil and for plants. I don't know how long it would take to use it, but it's a really, really, really good thing.

Okay. Last Rave says, I love better quality clothing. Oh, rave, better quality clothing. I get most of it secondhand off of Depop threads, etcetera. What is better quality clothing?

Am I missing something But I'm gonna look it up. Better quality clothing. Is this a brand? I don't think it's a brand. Maybe they're just saying that you'd like good quality clothing.

Oh, okay. Yeah. That's probably what you're saying. Good quality clothing. Yeah.

Getting it secondhand off of Depop threads. Again, this is where thrift shopping is so, so great because you can get really good brands and pay I mean, these days, it's like $8. It used to be, you know, 2 or $3 for a nice crew neck, and now they're charging $8. I bought a leather jacket from the thrift store last Christmas time around $20. I was a little upset, but at least I didn't pay for a new leather jacket.

Okay, that is everything for today's episode. Thank you so much for joining me for our first rants and raves. Wait. Is this our first rant? First one?
